The PERSEPHONE project in EGU General Assembly 2025

The PERSEPHONE project was showcased at the European Geosciences Union (EGU) General Assembly 2025, held in Vienna from April 3 to 7, 2025. The EGU is one of the largest and most influential events in the geosciences community, gathering thousands of researchers, industry representatives, and policymakers from around the world.

PERSEPHONE project was presented in the form of a poster session titled: “The PERSEPHONE Project: Autonomous Exploration and Extraction of Deep Mineral Deposits”
The poster highlights the project’s vision and interdisciplinary approach to enabling autonomous systems for identifying, accessing, and extracting deep mineral resources. It emphasises innovations and recent developments in robotics, AI, geoscientific modelling, and system integration, aiming to support a more sustainable and efficient raw materials supply chain in Europe.

This participation at EGU 2025 reflects the project’s commitment to engaging with the broader geoscientific community, fostering dialogue on responsible resource exploration, and contributing to the future of raw materials technologies.
